Step outside the hustle and bustle of Sydney to hit the wide open trails of Blue Mountain National Park on Fit City Tour’s Blue Mountain Trail Running Tour. Your Sydney city tour guide will escort you from Central Sydney to the nearby Katoomba for a day of bush ”running” in nature while exploring Katoomba Falls, Three Sisters, Giant's Stairway, and all the other natural beauty the area has to offer.
Operating daily at 9AM, this tour starts with guided transportation from Central Sydney to the smaller town of Katoomba, a journey of about two hours. We’ll start our 2 hour and 45 minutes trek at Katoomba Falls, one of the most photographed landmarks in Australia. We’ll take our first rest here so you can marvel at the beauty of the 244 meters drop and watch as the water cascades down.
We’ll continue our running tour through the trails to Three Sisters, a unique and uncommon rock formation dating back nearly 200 million years that, according to the aboriginals, is a vision of three tribal women trapped in stone. We’ll stop for a moment to take in the view and learn the legend of the Three Sisters before descending the 800 steps of Giant’s Stairway to the valley floor.
We’ll make our way back up and over to the Leura Cascades, a smaller yet beautiful formation consisting of water gliding over rocks formed from lava. Our last stop in Blue Mountain National Park is Gordon Falls. Taking in the expansive views, we’ll cool down feeling the mist of the water plunging 200 meters down to the valley below.
To wrap up our day trip, we’ll visit the local area of Leura for a coffee and cake refuel before the bus journey back to Sydney. Our tour comes with the option to stay on and continue to explore the area, as many aren’t quite ready to leave the lush landscape behind.
