1. Camberwell market

Camberwell market is Melbourne’s favourite trash and treasure market, with over 370 stalls selling everything vintage, second-hand and hand-made. You can find cheap-as-chips pre-loved designer clothes, books, craft as well as quirkier things like old type-writers and ornaments. Trading happens every Sunday from 6.30am – 12.30pm, and if you want the best chance of finding the top hidden gems and bargains, get in early.

2. Rose Street Market

Showcasing Melbourne’s best artists and designers, Rose Street market is where you’ll find all your handmade desires. With jewellery, art, photography, fashion, homewares, succulents, and an array of funky cafes and street art in the surrounding alleyways, this is the beating heart of Fitzroy. Open each Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 5pm.

3. Slow Food Melbourne Farmer’s Market

Worth a visit to the historic Abbotsford Convent (pictured left) in itself, the Slow Food Farmer’s Market happens on it’s grounds every 4th Saturday of each month. Seasonal, organic produce is sold by enthusiastic farmers’ eager to explain where your food comes from, and how it is farmed. While you’re there, brunch at the birthplace of Lentil as Anything, a not-for-profit vegan restaurant where you pay as you feel.
