Enjoy a lovely afternoon outside with breathtaking views right at your feet. With the warm weather in Sydney, this is the perfect time to pack your rugs, cheese platters, champagne and head out to one of the many picnic spots under the sun. Here are some of our picks.

Mrs Macquaries Point

Located in the heart of Sydney CBD, Mrs Macquaries Point is a part of the Royal Botanical Garden and is the best-known picnic spot in Sydney. Featuring panoramic views across the Opera House to the bridge, this Point is guaranteed to be stunning in almost any weather. Simply pick a spot from the array of grassy spaces and surround yourself with lush greenies as you enjoy the company of friends and family on a sunny day out.

Nielsen Park

Positioned at Vaucluse in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Nielsen Park offers scenic views of the harbour, bridge and sands of Shark Beach. With picnic tables, stone steps down to the sand and dwindling paths through the bushland, this park is one of the most beautiful parks in Sydney. Experience the untouched heritage of Nielsen Park today!

Wendy’s Secret Garden

Can you imagine having a picnic in an enchanted garden? Wendy’s secret garden is hidden amongst the skyscrapers and has the ability to transport you to another world with its serene environment. The space is always open to the public and can be accessed between Lavender Bay and Clark Park.

The coastal Wattamolla area at Royal National Park has a picnic area with excellent BBQ facilities, tables and running water. A popular family spot for bushwalking, swimming, hiking and a nice lunch in the outdoors. This area can fill up quickly during the summer weekends so make sure you get in there nice and early!
